One of the main benefits of Tarot is that it’s an intuitive development tool.
Reading the Tarot is a mixture of intuition, symbolism and context. If you’re working on deepening your intuitive practice, using it to interpret Tarot is a great way to expand your ability to read into symbolism and context.
I’m glad she did. I received my first Tarot Deck in graduate school as a graduation gift from my sister. My second and third Tarot Decks were gifts from my mother.
It was over 10 years ago now that I shuffled that very first deck of Tarot cards and I haven’t put them down since.
Of all the forms of divination cards, Tarot Cards may be my favorite because Tarot is a 78-card system. It is the same no matter which deck you pick up; any artist team could design a Tarot and once you know the system, you’ll be able to read that deck.
The earliest historical reference to all forms of Tarot are also quite old, originating from the 1440s-1450s (the mid 15th century).
Today, the most famous deck, the Rider-Waite Tarot, was published in 1909 and created by Arthur Edward Waite with illustrations by Pamela Coleman Smith.
Their legacy is quite amazing because the majority of Tarot Decks you see on the market today are Rider-Waite Tarot inspired decks. It is the most ubiquitous Tarot deck in the modern era.
Tarot can be an invitation to the mystical path, plus a personal tool for spiritual growth and self reflection, and that is what this journal is designed to support.
