Mediumship Hot Spots In The United States
Updated 2022.06.02
The Best Cities For Mediumship History -
Back in 1852, Philadelphia was a hot spot destination for anyone and everyone, including the great Madame Blavatsky, who traveled here to immerse herself in spiritualist culture.
Madame, a great philosopher of her time, and a spiritualist enthusiast went on to form the Theosophical Society whose main lodge can still be found in Philadelphia today. In fact, White Dog Cafe, her former residence, now serves as a popular lunch destination for the city.
But as far as mediumship hot spots are concerned, Philadelphia is known as one of the most haunted cities in the United states and it is home to the oldest founded spiritualist association in the entire world.
Founded in 1852 and chartered in 1867, the First Association of Spiritualists of Philadelphia began meeting in 6 different groups in and around the Northern Liberties Neighborhood, until they officially purchased their first property on 12th & Thompson Street in 1901.
The Philadelphia Spiritualists were charted 26 years sooner than Cassadaga and 12 years earlier than Lilydale.
In addition to Philadelphia, here a few destinations to consider when making your travel plans:
Philadelphia
Philadelphia remains one of the homes of modern mediumship in the US today. Due to all the history of the area, it’s filled with spiritual activity and secrets in my personal opinion, making it a great source of energy.
Now from the still standing home of the famous Madame Blavatsky to a still standing spiritualist temple still present off of Frankford Ave in Fishtown, to where they began séances at 50 N. 9th St, there are plenty of spiritual shops to visit in Philadelphia for those interested in mediumship.
Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp
Located in central Florida, just north of Orlando, Cassadaga is known as the Psychic Capital of the World and it was officially chartered in 1893.
I've been there myself and both my sister and I have had readings there. If you're visiting, know there's a hotel, a place to eat, shops and many mediums you can book a reading with. Since it’s not accessible by public transit, make sure to rent a car, if you go.
Lilydale
Cassadaga’s northern sister is the Lilydale, a mediumship camp located in upstate NY near Lake Erie that was formed out of the Laona Spiritualist Society in 1855 and later chartered in 1879.
If Cassadaga is the largest year round established town, Lilydale is the largest seasonal gathering for mediumship enthusiasts, and it's wide open for visitors during the summer seasons since the 1800s, hosting tons of workshops, events and get togethers every year from June-August.
Lilydale frequently hosts some of the biggest names in mediumship during their annual summer camp symposiums.
Camp Chesterfield
Built in Indiana as a refuge for mediums, today Chesterfield is over 44 acres large, making it one of the largest medium camps in America and the only one that's been classified as an endangered landmark, which residents actually see as a good thing.
Chesterfield welcomes visitors year round and they feature an ongoing summer workshop series, weekly healing circles, and so much more.

In addition to the Philadelphia area, these are a few of the mediumship epicenters of the United States and when you go, keep in mind that the residents of these destinations are largely practitioners of Spiritualism.
Spiritualism is a religion where the main focus is to connect people to God and not to a particular savior, though they do believe in the teachings of Jesus.
Spiritualists also believe in the soul's survivability after they leave this world, which means that many who practice Spiritualism also practice the art of connecting to the Spirit in their new, ascended state.
Many Spiritualists are practicing mediums and all locations are open to visits from friendly and respectful people of all kinds.
If you prepare to go to any of the above and you're sensitive to The Spirit World, take a few precautions, because any of these locations can be intense.
You'll want to take note of the few different ways to sense spirit, and keep an eye out for those signs, drink plenty of water to keep the energy flowing, and wear protective or energy amplifying crystals, if you have them.
